Amalou (a Maroque recipe)
This indulgent almond, honey and argan oil butter is delicious spread on warmed Moroccan bread, and traditional eaten by Berbers for breakfast.

100gm sliced almonds 100gm Argan oil 1/4 tsp salt 50gm honey (Moroccan if you can get it or a local honey) |
1. Brown the almonds in the base of a pan, being careful not to burn them.
2. Add to a blender and add the oil, mix until you have a smooth paste.
3. Spoon the honey into the blender and continue blending for about 30 seconds.
4. 4. Pour the amalou into a stoneware pot and store in a cool place.
Serve with warm bread or crumpets.
